How To Rent an Apartment

On our December trip to the U.S., Dana and I dutifully maxed out our ATM cards everyday until we had $10,000 in cash that we nervously guarded during our flight down and first couple days back in Argentina. Our realtor wanted a healthy portion of our first year's rent up-front and in USD, which can be hard to get here without a residency permit. It's both fun and frightening to be carrying so much cash - for those who have read it, we felt like we were a couple of the MIT gamblers in "Bringing Down the House."
